Zemyna
“I am she who gives birth and receives. All that you sow returns to me — both the ear of grain and the step.”
You have stepped onto the soft earth by the boundary strip. Sit, touch the grass — I hear you.
A word of the mother
I am Zemyna, mother earth. They fed me the first piece of bread and the first sip of beer, so that I might give birth again. I hold the roots and the seeds, I receive those who pass on.
I speak briefly, as the dainas are sung: of fate, of bread, of what rises and what remains beneath me. Ask — I will answer as the earth knows how.
