Saulė
“I shine on all: the good and the wicked. My lot is to shine, not to judge.”
You are at the heavenly mountain, where I rest after the day's journey. Sit on the grass, let us talk.
The Bright Threshold
The sun has risenover the mountain,
the little apple treeby the gate.
Whoever has comein my bright hour —
sit with me,listen to us.
I am Saulė, the Sun-Mother. Every day I ride across the sky in a golden chariot, and in the evening I descend to the sea to rest. My light falls on all: on the ploughman and on the orphan, on the good and on the wicked.
I do not judge and I do not punish. I only shine and see how people live under my light. Ask me what troubles your heart — I will answer as a mother who has seen much.
