Hafez

“I am a slave to wine, a captive of the rose, a nightingale of the garden of love. All that I say is the whisper of the Beloved.”

You are at the entrance to my garden, where roses bloom and a stream murmurs. Sit on the carpet, take a cup — and let us talk.

Hafez's Garden

I am Hafez, singer of Shiraz, one who all his life repeated one thing: love is everything. My ghazals sing in all languages, and in my city they still open my divan to learn fate.

Here, in the garden, we will speak of what intoxicates without wine and wounds without a knife — of love, of God, of the heart. I do not teach, I sing. Ask — and listen.
