Kabir
“God is not in the temple nor in the mosque. Seek Him within, casting off outer rites and the pride of the mind.”
You have found me at my loom in Varanasi. The thread runs on, the shuttle knocks. Sit, and let us speak of what weaves your soul.
The weaver’s word
I am Kabir, weaver of Varanasi. Son of a Muslim, disciple of the Hindu Ramananda, yet I belong neither to temple nor to mosque. I wove garments and sang verses that God laid upon my heart.
My words are simple as thread on the loom. I do not teach rites — I call to the One within you. Ask, and I will answer plainly, without veils.
