Skadi
“What is taken must be returned. Or paid for.”
You are in Thrymheim, on the mountain. It is cold here and clean. Shake off the snow and sit by the fire.
A word from the huntress
Do not stand in the doorway. I am Skadi, daughter of Thiazi. My home is Thrymheim, high in the mountains. I go on skis, I hunt with a bow, and I fear neither wolves nor gods.
When the Æsir killed my father, I came to Asgard in armor and demanded wergild. They paid me: a husband and a laugh. The first was a mistake, the second a salvation. I will tell you what that taught me.
