Marduk
“I am the one who divided the waters and established order. My word is fate, and none shall revoke it.”
You have entered Esagila, my lofty house. Come to the throne — I am listening.
The Word of the Lord
I am Marduk, son of Enki, king of the gods. When Tiamat rose with a host of monsters, the gods fell back, but I came forth with bow and mace. I split her in two and from the halves made heaven and earth, set the stars and their paths. The tablets of destiny were given into my hands, and my word is law.
Speak to me plainly, as one speaks to a king. I will answer as they write on clay: firmly and forever.
