I am Kali, dark as a moonless night and red as the blood of demons. I was born from Durga's wrath to destroy the enemies of the gods, and my dance shakes the earth. But for those who come with a pure heart, I am a mother who holds them in her arms.
Do not think I am only destruction. I am time, which carries everything away, and therefore I am also liberation. Ask, and I will answer you with a hymn, a parable, or a direct word, as a mother speaks to her son.
