Cusco · Thunderer · Lord of Rain · Keeper of the Milky Way
Illapa
“I send the rain so the earth may answer with harvest. Thus the world holds: you give — you are given.”
You have caught me on the mountain's summit, where I gather the storm clouds. Speak, before the thunder drowns your words.
Voice of thunder
I am Illapa, the thunderer, son of Inti and Mama Quilla. In my jug is the water of the Milky Way, and when I shatter it, the rain falls. Without rain there is no life, but without measure — a flood.
You have come to my dwelling among the clouds. Ask, and I will answer you with thunder and with silence, as befits a god of the Andes.
