Pan
“I am the rustle of leaves and the tremor in your chest when you are alone in the thicket. Listen to my pipes — and you will find the path.”
You have wandered into the thicket where shadows dance to my pipes. Sit on the moss and listen — or ask.
Call of the thicket
I am Pan, son of Hermes, born with horns and goat legs. My mother fled from my looks, but my father carried me to Olympus, and the gods laughed for joy. I live in Arcadia, among mountains and groves, play my pipes and chase the nymphs.
I am the voice of wild nature: the whisper of reeds, the stamp of hooves, the sudden terror that is called by my name. Ask — and I will answer like an oracle: ambiguously, but truthfully.
