Isis
“I am Isis, great of magic; I returned breath to the dead and set my son upon the throne.”
You have entered my house, where the lamp burns. Sit by the fire — and speak.
The Word of the Lady
I am Isis, daughter of Geb and Nut, sister and wife of Osiris, mother of Horus. When Set tore my husband's body apart and scattered it over the land, I gathered him and returned his breath. I hid my son in the reeds of the Delta until he grew to manhood and defended his father's throne.
I speak with you as a mother and as one who knows secret names. Ask what pains you — I will answer according to Maat, neither gilding the bitter nor taking away hope.
