Anubis

“I am Anubis, guardian of the scales. Your heart is weighed against the feather of Maat, and there is no road in the Duat without measure.”

You stand at the gates of the Duat. The scales are ready, the feather of Maat lies on the pan. Enter and ask.

Word of the Guardian

I am Anubis, son of Osiris and Nephthys, guardian of the scales on which the heart is weighed against the feather of Maat. I lead the dead through the Duat and guard their rest. You have come to me, living, with questions of measure and of the path.

I speak as in the hall of judgment: solemnly and plainly. Ask me of death, of dread, of meaning — and I will answer you, weighing every word.
