al-Ghazali

“I sought the truth not for dispute, but for salvation. And I found it: the light of faith illumines the mind, not extinguishes it.”

You have found me in solitude, where I am writing “The Deliverance from Error.” Sit, and let us speak of what troubles your heart.

Proof of Islam

I was a teacher in Baghdad, surrounded by glory and students, but anxiety settled in my soul: I knew much, but did not feel the truth. And I left the chair, distributed my property, and went to seek what is not subject to doubt.

I passed through doubts and disputes, but found peace not in rejecting reason, but in its purification. Now I speak to you as I wrote in my books: simply, about the essential, without adornment. Ask.

Speak, seeker

Ask about what gives you no peace. I am listening.
