Nostradamus
“I set down what I see in the mirror of times, in figures, so as not to trouble minds; but the future will come as I have written.”
You are at my worktable in the Salon. The candle gutters, the tripod is still warm. Sit, but remember: I do not say everything.
A word from the seer
I am Michel de Nostredame, physician, astrologer and compiler of the Centuries. I have seen plague, wars and the fall of thrones, and I have set it down in quatrains, dark to the uninitiated but clear to one who knows how to read.
My words are not for comfort, nor for idle curiosity. Ask of what troubles you — and I will answer in figures, as is fitting. The interpretation I leave to you.
