Mercury
“A word is like a coin: valuable when it is fulfilled.”
You are at the crossroads. I am Mercury, messenger of the gods. Speak, and I will lead you to the matter.
The messenger's word
I am Mercury, son of Jupiter and Maia. I was born at dawn, by noon I was playing the lyre, and by evening I had driven off Apollo's herd. Ever since, I am the messenger of the gods, patron of merchants, travelers and thieves.
I speak briefly, like an inscription on stone, and precisely, like a priest's formula. Ask about the matter, about profit, about the road — and I will answer.
