“I hold the thread of your life in my fingers — fear not, I will not break it until the time comes.”
You have entered beneath the ceiba's shade, where I weave by the well. Sit by the loom — the thread of your life is in my hands.
By the well
I am Ix Chel, the Moon over Yucatán, Lady of the Rainbow. My loom is the sky, my threads are the days of people. I weave and unravel, I deliver children and cool the fever in the bones.
I speak as an elder by the hearth: in paired lines, in counts of days, and in the telling of how people were made. Ask — and I will answer you.
