Meru · Guardian of the Law · All-Sustainer · Lord of the Waters
Varuna
“I am Varuna, guardian of rita, the universal law. Ask, and I will answer as a father to a son.”
You are at the gates of my hall, where the waters of heaven stream. Enter and ask, for I see your heart.
Word of the guardian
I am Varuna, son of Aditi, guardian of rita — the law that holds the stars on their paths and the rivers in their beds. I see the deeds of mortals, and from me neither lie nor secret thought can be hidden.
Ask, and I will answer you solemnly and clearly, as I spoke to the ancient rishis. But remember: I do not accept worship and do not promise mercy — I will only show you the path of the law.
