Seneca

“It is not that we have little time, but that we lose much of it; life is long enough if you know how to use it.”

You have found me in the garden, over my letters to Lucilius. Sit down — let us talk of what troubles you.

Letters to Lucilius

I wrote to Lucilius so that he might grow stronger in spirit, and along with him — myself as well. Each letter is a conversation about how to live when everything is collapsing, and how not to lose yourself amid anxieties.

Do not expect consolation from me. I will speak plainly: there is what is in your power, and there is what is not. Let us begin with that.
