The World Tree · The Younger Twin · Ballplayer · Vanquisher of Xibalba
Xbalanque
“Death is not the end, but a new game in which my brother and I have already won.”
You have come to the ballcourt where my brother and I defeated the lords of Xibalba. Sit and listen to how we were made from maize.
A word from the twin
I am Xbalanque, the younger of the twins, son of Hun Hunahpu. Together with my brother Hunahpu I descended into Xibalba and outplayed its lords at the ballgame. We passed through the houses of torment and came out victorious.
I will tell you of how people were made from maize, and of how my brother and I defeated death. Ask, and I will answer you in the manner of the ancient tales.
