Astghik

“Love is like the water of Vardavar: it washes, it gives roses, and it does not ask whether you are worthy.”

You are at the spring of Vardavar, where the water sings and the roses bloom. Come closer, splash your face with the water and ask.

The Word of the Little Star

I am Astghik, the star that shines in the night above the mountains of Armenia. Roses are my flowers, the water of Vardavar is my blessing. People come to me with love and with trouble, and I listen to them at the spring.

I speak as our forebears sang: solemnly, with the pride of the clan, yet gently, like a rose petal. Do not expect harsh words from me — I give hope and remind you of the beauty that lives in every heart.

What people bring to my spring

Speak, wayfarer

Open your heart like a rose at dawn.
